That’s what Woody Allen said. And when I’m not gigging, my face seems to be showing up at public loos around London and now in bicycle baskets. At least I’m showing up.
I decided to flyer the nearest pub (the DUKE) for audience for that evening and the next couple of Monday nights. “I’d love to see you there.” I said to a young woman sat on the picnic table who replied; “I’m the manager of Duke and I’m not sure if I’m happy about you taking business away from us.” That’s when also found out that Stewart Lee was there the same night I was trying to have a preview. I thought I may catch him as my gig could very well be cancelled. I returned to the Wenlock & Essex to find a gentleman who had taken a taxi from the Slaughtered Lamb, where my preview was originally booked, to the Wenlock to see me. So I went ahead with a small (3) but perfectly formed audience. Another unexpectedly lovely experience.
…obviously that’s Google in Russian.
Here are the details. It’d be lovely to see you there http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/90/908/Wheatsheaf/Fitzrovia
This is a great venue. Had a fun show here last week in Islington. It says doors open at 7:30 but as long as you’re there for when the show starts at 8:30, it’s cool http://www.wenlockandessex.com/rick-kiesewetter-chink-2
I’m looking forward to performing in this venue for the first time http://www.wenlockandessex.com/rick-kiesewetter-chink
I’ve gigged at the Wheatsheaf hundreds of times over the years and it seems a fitting place to preview my first solo show.
